ZBS News-Equipped for Service

News From Zaporizhia Bible Seminary (ZBS) - Equipped for Service

Zaporizhia Bible Seminary’s ministry continues in 2025. We do not know what awaits us in Ukraine, Zaporizhia, and ZBS this coming year, but we begin the spring semester with hope in the Lord. It is the Lord who equips us for service.

The war in Ukraine persists, affecting young people, children, and the elderly. Zaporizhia remains a frontline city, and the situation has not improved. Over the past several months, the city has experienced multiple shellings by Russian missiles and guided bombs, resulting in many civilians being injured or killed. In the last attack, which resulted in 14 deaths and over two hundred injuries, our alumna Larisa from the first class of ZBS was also seriously wounded. Her son Alexander, who is now a part-time student at ZBS, miraculously escaped injury, as he was at work when the explosion occurred and survived unharmed. I have attached some pictures from this tragedy, in which Alexander is shown first on the left, helping to evacuate his mom. Please pray for this family and all those who have been injured.

Our need for continued prayer is pressing. Thank you to all who support our ministry prayerfully and financially. Without your help, our ministry would not be possible.

Blessings to you all, and thank you!

Zaporizhia Bible Seminary Prayer Needs:

  • Pray for an end to the war and improved economic conditions in Ukraine.
  • Pray for the safety of students and faculty and especially for alumni involved in combat to defend Ukraine.
  • Pray for ZBS's financial support.
  • Pray for the students who are beginning their studies at ZBS.
  • Pray for the ministry of the graduates.
  • Pray for victory for my country in this war and for peace in Ukraine.
  • Pray for healing for the wounded and comfort for those who have lost loved ones.

Yours in Christ,

The Path of Faith, Study and Service

On October 26, 2024, Zaporizhzhia Bible Seminary celebrated its 30th anniversary. For 30 years, the seminary has served as a center of spiritual education dedicated to training new leaders for Ukrainian churches. Over these years, it has been a blessing to hundreds of ministers and believers, providing quality biblical and theological education, raising new generations of preachers, pastors, missionaries, pastoral caregivers, and ministers in various fields. For more than three decades, the seminary has remained faithful to its mission even in the most difficult times, when the trials of the people of Ukraine were particularly severe.

Despite the war and the challenges of our time, ZBS continues to train and strengthen Christians who seek to serve God faithfully. In particular, it was during the war that the seminary opened branches in the Ternopil region and in Germany. The branches have become important centers of learning and spiritual support where students can grow in their knowledge of the Lord and expand their ministry horizons.
