Rich currently serves as Chair of the READ board. He and his wife, Valerie, have three adult children and nine grandchildren. In June 2012, Rich “retired” after 43 years of pastoral ministry. He pastored churches in Michigan (7 years), Massachusetts (12 years), and most recently, Calvary Church in Roseville, MN (24 years). He is serving as an intentional interim pastor with VitalChurch Ministries. He enjoys watching and participating in sports, especially biking.

Rich is a graduate of Northeastern Bible College (B.R.E.) and Gordon-Conwell Seminary (M.Div.; D.Min.).

For the past 29 years, Rich has also been training and equipping pastors and other church leaders in Ukraine to carry out their mission within their personal ministry contexts more effectively. He has conducted pastoral training conferences in Haiti and Ghana. Rich and Valerie serve as extended short-term missionaries with One Challenge International. They anticipate making several trips a year to encourage and equip church leaders in Eastern Europe.
