We want to introduce you further to Igor Bilorus, pastor of the Evangelical Church of Jesus Christ in Ternopil, Ukraine.
We shared a bit with you in our June 30, 2023, URF Update, posted here.
Meeting this pastor and his church community was part of God's plan and timing. One of our partners, Zaporizhzhia Bible Seminary, recently started a remote library program site in Ternopil. A part of this start-up is to offer a pastor's conference to local pastors. Polycarp, Director of the ZBS Ternopil site, was encouraged by this dynamic new church and its location, so made the arrangements. Our friend Volodya, Director of ZBS, and the rest of the READ travel team met Pastor Igor for the first time when they arrived to hold this conference on May 27 this year.
Solid and close relationships are essential to have with our Ukrainian partners, and usually, that takes time. But Pastor Igor has a sweet, humble spirit and a pastor's heart - and the connection between READ Ministries and Pastor Igor and the dynamic, healthy community at the Church of Jesus Christ was an immediate one.
This church is having a significant impact for the Kingdom of God through its refugee ministry.
Pastor Igor gives "glory to Jesus Christ, who gives us strength." He thanks "God the Father that your hearts are open to us, to the Church in Ukraine. Thank you for your support and prayers."
Since then, we have received updates (summer activities!) on the evangelism events (June 24, 26-29) they have offered to children of fallen soldiers, children of displaced families, and local youth. The church volunteers bring fun to the children, and Bible hour is filled with "spiritual conversations." Igor thanks God "for the opportunity to sow good things for children and their parents."
At the end of the multi-day camp, approximately a dozen children "accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts. The children came to Jesus; he accepted them. It's 100%! Thank you for praying!"
